What size are the TraknProtect beacons?

  • The Inventory Tracking sensors are 1.5” square × ¾” thick.
  • The Safety Buttons are: 2” long × 1 ¼” wide × 0.4” thick
  • The Room Tray Tracking cards are 3 ¼” long × 2” wide × ¼” thick
  • The Vendor ID cards are 3 ¼” long × 2” wide × ¼” thick

What are the dimensions of the hubs?

Roughly the size of your palm – 2” × 3” × ½” thick.

What is the range of hubs and beacons?

While BLE beacons and hubs can have 300 ft on clear line of sight range, outdoors without any obstruction, given the interference indoors, most BLE enabled devices have a range of 80-100ft. We use a conservative range and place the hubs approximately 60 ft. apart to allow for overlapping coverage, that’s typically every other room in most hotels. However, we customize the range of the hubs based on the build and layout of each hotel to provide optimal coverage.

How does the build of my hotel affect the range of the hubs?

The range of the hubs can be up to 100ft, but we customize it’s range for your specific property and area.

Does the cost include training?

Yes. In addition, we provide an online training platform that is included in the annual subscription fee.

Do I need a hub in every room?

Depending on the build of your hotel, if there is concrete between your rooms, then you will likely need a hub every room but generally speaking for most builds, hotels require a hub every other room.

How many safety buttons do I need?

Depending on the city or state that you are in, you may need a safety button for every housekeeper, housekeeping managers, room service attendants, bellman, engineers and porters. Request a demo here to learn more about what is required in your city/state.

Do I need a safety button for each employee, or can they be used by multiple employees?

The safety buttons can be assigned to a specific employee or be used interchangeably by different employees on different shifts. We can customize this based on your hotel’s needs and your budget.

How is the solution priced?

The solution has an upfront fee for the purchase of the devices, installation and initial training; there is also an annual subscription fee that includes subscription licenses, training and, in case of safety button, annual maintenance fee.
