Human trafficking is a pressing crisis that impacts millions worldwide. This heinous crime affects men, women, and children, robbing them of their basic rights. It often operates in secrecy, making it even more critical to address. The fight against human trafficking demands a coordinated effort, and TraknProtect is making a significant impact through advocacy, victim support, and education. Let’s explore how we are leading the charge against this grave injustice.
Advocacy Initiatives and Partnerships
TraknProtect’s advocacy efforts are pivotal in fighting against human trafficking. By forging partnerships with local nonprofits, victim advocacy groups, and educational institutions, TraknProtect enhances its outreach and effectiveness. In the past year alone, collaborations with organizations like SafeHouseProject and Rethreaded allowed TraknProtect to make significant strides in raising awareness.
These partnerships facilitate training sessions, workshops, and community events that teach individuals how to identify the signs of human trafficking. Our commitment goes beyond talking the talk, we walk the walk. 100% of TraknProtect employees are OnWatch trained to be able to spot, report and prevent sex trafficking.
Through these initiatives, the organizations we partner with mobilize community members, equipping them with the knowledge needed to safeguard potential victims.
Advocacy is not just about spreading awareness; it is about inspiring local action and creating safe environments for those vulnerable to exploitation.
Supporting Victims of Human Trafficking
Supporting victims is a vital aspect of the fight against human trafficking. TraknProtect prioritizes survivor support, understanding that individuals who have experienced trafficking face significant challenges while rebuilding their lives. Many survivors require access to essential services, including counseling, housing, and legal aid.
Through collaborations with specialized service providers, TraknProtect has made it our mission to purchase from companies that employ and benefit survivors. Through this commitment, we've been able to help over 300 survivors this past year with employment, career development, and supportive services.
Educational Resources for Prevention
TraknProtect continues to adapt and broaden its educational resources based on emerging trends. For instance, newly released statistics indicate that 40.3 million people are trafficked globally each year, highlighting the urgent need to address this issue. By keeping information current and relevant, TraknProtect ensures its educational initiatives remain effective and impactful.
In full partnership with survivors of human trafficking, Polaris conducted the National Survivor Study which focused on examining survivors' experiences and perceptions of the institutions structures, and organizations that impact their ability to achieve positive life outcomes after exiting trafficking.
This study found that the survivors are not thriving and due to their trafficking experience, they are experiencing poverty, abuse, substance abuse, and/or family instability at catastrophic rates. Too little progress has been made towards addressing these vulnerabilities and improving the lives of these survivors. Learn more about this study here.
A Call to Action
The fight against human trafficking requires collective effort. TraknProtect stands at the forefront of this movement with advocacy, survivor support, and powerful educational resources. Each individual has the power to contribute.
As we move forward, we invite everyone to take action. Whether through advocacy, supporting survivors, or educating friends and family, your contributions matter. Together, we can create a world free of human trafficking where every person can live in safety and dignity.
Let’s unite our efforts, stay alert, and be ready to act. Together, we can make a genuine difference in the fight against human trafficking.
